Need for
establishing
An
independent permanent ‘High level
Investigation team”

Last year it was Dr. Dabholkar, yesterday
com. Panasare, now who will be the next victim…? Every morning a progressive
thinking worker leaves his home carrying this thought in the corner of his
brain. A fleeting thought crosses his mind once in a while, whether there will
be a cowardly murderous attack on me today ?......However after remembering
great personalities like Phule, Shahu, Ambedkar, Shivaji, Marx, Lohiya he
resumes his work and the unpleasant thought flies away at that moment………..This
is what is happening in case of every progressive thinking worker today…………..
What if a worker is really targeted
all the time? If he’s under watch all the time? What If these people surround
him all the time, in front of his home, behind the house, at the place of work?
At night, in the day, in town, outside town, in travel and in another town as
well. An impossible thought for an ordinary man, but this is happening in case
of an extra ordinary publicity shy worker--….. his name is Prof. Shrawan Deore.
He’s threatened with an indirect warning ‘Tuza Dabholkar Karu ‘ (’Your fate will
similar to Dabholkar).
Prof. Shrawan Deore might have
ignored such threats. One cannot ignore a possibility that he may be under mistaken impression that he’s
not a big worker like Dabholkar and why would someone kill him. However as
& when a ‘watch’ on him started increasing, the danger to his life
increased. He kept this fear to himself for quite some time. If he had shared
it with someone, there was a fear of getting a counter question, “DO you think
you are a big revolutionary so that someone might attack you? Perhaps Dr.
Dabholkar & Com. Pansare may have thought on same lines and kept this fear
to themselves. In the progressive movement this cancer called ‘ego’ works like
a life threatening disease. Scared with this disease Prof. Deore must have kept
this terrorism fear to himself. To share this with one’s friends &
relatives is to push them away because of this fear. However when his met with an
accident he was scared from the root. He was threatened indirectly ‘will make
Dabholkar of you’. He decided not to keep quite any more but to speak with
someone. On a visit to Pune for delivering a lecture, he discussed this threat
with Dr. Baba Adhav, Prof. Vilas Wagh, Ushatai, P. A. Inamdar, Krishnakant
Kudale, Sanjay Sonavani, Bhai Vaidya, Kumar Saptarshi After discussing with
several retired Police officers, Crime branch officials, everyone came to
conclusion that there was a distinct possibility of his going the same way as
Dabholkar has gone. Some of them have prepared a joint statement and have
advised Prof. Deore to make a personal statement. This statement gives detailed
sequence of events.
The reactionary leaders must be
stupid to believe and think that once likes of Dabholkar and Pansare are gunned
down, workers in second or third front will automatically stop doing their work. How can these people
be under false notion that if & when a person is killed his thought will
also die.???? Even if they know that thought are never die by killing someone,
the work of murder is assigned to Bahujan hands. Their hidden agenda might be
to engage the progressive workers buried in grief to various emotional tasks. The
real agenda is different. Because of this terror Prof. Shravan Deore’s work has
not stopped but has considerable effect on it. The real intention behind this terror
is to at least slow down the progressive work if it cannot be stopped
completely.
Progressive workers do all their work
for the Bahujan samaj only, however persons who carry life threatening attack
on them are from the same bahujan samaj. Police investigation never reaches to
the hidden brains behind these hands.
Only superficial causes are searched to pacify themselves. For example Dr.
Dabholkar was attacked as he took the cause of cast courts( Jaat panchayat).
Com.Pansare raised his voice against toll booths therefore he was attacked.
Prof. Deore raised his voice against group rapes therefore his vehicle met with
an accident. Whether it’s a leader or a worker from the progressive movement,
he has some dispute or some protest other going on all the time. Disputes &
protest are inseparable part of their life. Fundamentalist reactionary
organizations search for such disputes and allot contract killing jobs to the
people in the opposition. This contract killing is not in form of money but in
form of complete assured security against any legal action. The killers are
told to carry the murder without any fear and are assured that as ‘the govt.
belongs to us, nothing untoward will happen.’
One point that I raised little while
ago must be explained in detail. To protest against Com.Panasare’s attack a
meeting took place in martyr’s memorial
on 16th Feb’2015.In this meeting, while speaking Prof.Devare
informed about terror threats that he received and read out a statement made by
workers from Pune. It’s quite possible for some people might think, who is this
Prof.Deore, what is his work and why would reactionaries attack him.
Who should do the evaluation of which
worker does what work in the progressive movement. In a farm there are several
chili trees, but instead of farmer telling which chilli is more spicy, it’s the
eater who is the best judge of it’s bite. Leftist ( revolutionary) movement
never took blind faith eradication a serious work. It was evaluated within the
framework of progress. Eradication of blind faith is culturally a revolutionary
work. To understand that is it necessary for Dr. Dabholkar to loose his life?
How far work of a progressive worker is dangerous for a reactionary group can
be explained only be the reactionaries, no one else.
Whenever in any state or in center
BJP come to power RSS starts imposing it’s agenda. Educational studies is on
the top of this agenda. As & when BJP comes to power textbooks in schools
& colleges are turned more & more into saffron. That is because they
have learned from Budhist universities importance of education in revolution
& counter revolution, therefore every effort is made to make school curriculum
aggressively brhamanical. Prof.Shravan Deore detected this point correctly and
created a ‘Scientific, casteless, equality’ based cariculam. 22 years back he
established a ‘Satyashodhak Chatrapati Dnyanpeeth.’ Through the means of
this Dnyanpeeth he implements this curriculum all over the state of
Maharashtra.There are 300 centers all over the state and in far reaching areas
where exams are conducted. Since last year it’s available in Hindi and as such
it has become an all India ‘enlightened’ programme. If this project is
continued it can create itself into ‘Phule-Ambedkarist University at the global
level. Even if progressive movement is not aware of such simple thing, RSS is
fully convinced of it.
RSS has on its anti revolutionary
agenda second most important point.’ The main arsenal of ‘cultural
revolution-anti revolution’ is religious scrutiny, fight of symbols, and war of
myths. In this cultural war Prof.Shravan Deore has, on this front contributed
substantially in giving OBC movement a literary and cultural turn. To initiate
OBC literary festivals. To start a conflict of myths through ‘Baliraja’
festivals, lecture series, book writing, workshops and such programmes are
conducted by him all the time. As he’s publicity shy he is never in lime
light. An progressive journey that started from his age of 19 envelopes and
continues uninterrupted amongst Adivasi, Dalit, OBC’s student organizations, land
labours, literature, culture, education.
There may be many workers like him
who might have stopped worked or are under a threat of terror or have their
work interrupted. Punites, in their joint statement have clearly stated that
‘Govt.must establish a special high
level investigation team which will be in constant touch with Advisory
Committee’ of forward leaders like Baba Adhav, Adv. Prakash Ambedkar. In
the state of Maharashtra wherever any
worker is terrorized or is under surveillance or receives threatening letters,
calls in such case this team must investigate and detect the source. The
attackers must be arrested before they attack.
As soon as Prof. Shravan Deore
mentioned threats received by him in a public meeting, the other day, some of
his friends advised him to suspend work for few days, but every time he says
with determination,
It is
alright if I go the same way as
‘Dabholkar-Pansare’!!
But by
stopping work……………..
I do not
want be Perumal Murugan!!!
